The Science Committee is comprised of both LBIF members and non-members. In addition to those who actually do projects, we also have an advisory board made up of top scientists, physicians, and environmentalists. All projects, such as Science Saturday, Water Quality Monitoring, Barnegat Bay Day, Grant Writing, School Outreach, Greening the Foundation, Alternative Energy, etc., are led by talented project managers who develop a timeline, budget and manage the activities of the various volunteers.

Because there are so many things to do, the committee is always looking for additional volunteers. Whether you are a full time resident or a summer visitor, if you have an interest in community service, the LBIF Science committee invites you to participate. To volunteer, simply contact the office at LBIF.

You don’t have to be a scientist to join the science committee. We have a committed group of people with varied backgrounds including public relations, computer, artists, businessman/women and law. They all have a common vision: to learn about and help to improve the environment - and we would like to have more people join us.
