In the winter of 2090 - 2010 - Dr. Josh Kohut Assistant Professor of Oceanography at Rutgers University and his topic was: Satellites, Robots and Our Ocean.

Dr. Kohut explained how ocean observing technologies are completely changing the way we study our oceans. His most recent projects involve sending an underwater robot across an ocean basin to mid-shelf fronts and understanding their impact on material transport from the coast to the deep ocean. This spring, ocean engineers and students from Rutgers University will be launching a small autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), also known as a Slocum Glider, off the coast of New Jersey for a transatlantic mission.
